The Links at Terranea
The Links at Terranea is a dramatic nine-hole, par-3 Southern California oceanfront golf course, with stunning views of the Pacific Ocean and Catalina Island. Masterfully routed and beautifully integrated with its natural surroundings, this collection of championship-caliber holes offers a unique environment for both group and individual play. Artful bunkering, unobstructed sightlines and a wide range of classic strategic elements combine to deliver an unparalleled golf experience on the Los Angeles coast. Perhaps best of all, golfers at The Links walk and take in the magnificent coastal setting, just as the game was intended to be enjoyed.
Catalina Island is located just 22 miles off Southern California’s coast and offers endless options for visitors to enjoy. For a slower pace, visitors to Catalina Island can enjoy a laid-back time of shopping, soaking in the spectacular views and a trip to the spa. Other Catalina Island amenities include golf, hiking, biking, art and museums, and water activities on the island include fishing, scuba diving, jet ski rentals, parasailing, kayaking, paddle boarding and more.
Getting there is easy via the one-hour express ferry from San Pedro.
Stand Up Paddle Boarding at Terranea
Paddle boarding along the Palos Verdes coast is an unforgettable experience! Guided by our skilled instructor, you will test your core strength while paddling through amazing kelp beds along our shoreline. Gliding above the kelp forest, an endless eco-system often referred to as an underwater rainforest, you will have a unique view of the ever-changing ocean landscape. You’ll have the best seat in the house!
Full Day Fishing Excursion
Spend a full day at sea fishing the waters surrounding Catalina Island for tuna, bass, mahi mahi or sculpin. While fishing 22 miles off the coast in the San Pedro Channel, there’s no telling the type of fish tales you’ll bring home!
Private Falconry Experience
Meet the falconer and get up close and personal with his majestic birds of prey. Since 2009 we have used the ancient art of falconry to provide a natural bird abatement program, ensuring that the resort is free from droppings and bacteria from seagulls, pigeons and crows who would otherwise overrun the area. Includes personal introduction to the birds, and a guided tour of the property.
Experience the unique sport of archery on ocean side range with sweeping views of Catalina Island. Skilled archery instructors will provide you with bow and arrow instruction, followed by shooting practice and games.
Oceanview Trail Ride
Experience the beauty of Palos Verdes at its finest during a horseback ride with an ocean view. Enjoy views of the ocean with Catalina Island as a backdrop as you wind through the Portuguese Bend Nature Preserve. This peaceful, relaxing ride is sure to help you recharge and connect with nature.
Guided Kayak Tide Pool Adventure at Terranea
Experience tide pooling in a whole new way! You'll begin and end your tour with a robust paddle to reach Sacred Cove, an outstanding tide pool located approximately two miles east of the resort. After landing at Sacred Cove, spend an hour investigating the wildlife and natural formations before paddling back to Terranea's Beach Cove. The tour covers the normal paddling distance of our traditional guided tour, so expect to see some wildlife along the way!
